SBA Commercial Lender

I served my country and my state. Now I serve small business owners.

I help small business owners across the country buy and refinance the buildings they operate from, using the SBA 7(a) program. The path I took to get here is not the usual one, and I think that is exactly why owners trust me with the biggest purchase their business will ever make.

Two careers built on service

I have spent over 20 years in service, in the United States Navy, where I still serve in the Reserves, and in the New Jersey State Police, where I spent 10 years as a State Trooper before medically retiring. Both careers ran on the same idea: show up, tell people the truth, and take care of the ones counting on you. Nobody on the worst day of their life cares about your sales pitch. They care whether you are steady, honest, and actually going to help.

That is the standard I brought with me into commercial lending, and it is the one I hold myself to on every deal.

What I do

I focus on one thing and do it well: financing owner-occupied commercial real estate. That means helping a business owner stop paying a landlord and start building equity in a building they own, or refinancing one they already have into better terms. The main tool for that is the SBA 7(a) program, with as little as 10% down and long, fully amortizing terms. When a different structure fits better, like the SBA 504 or a USDA B&I loan, I will tell you.

If a deal is outside what I do, like a straight business acquisition with no real estate, I will point you to someone who handles that, instead of forcing a fit. The goal is to get you to the right answer, not just to a transaction.

How I work

  • Straight answers. If your numbers work, I will tell you. If they do not, I will tell you that too, and what it would take to get there.
  • Real homework. If I do not know something, I find out and come back with the correct answer. I do not make things up.
  • Your deal, treated like mine. I stay in it from the first question through closing, and I keep you in the loop the whole way.
  • No pressure. This is a big decision. My job is to give you the information and the honest read, then let you make the call.

Who sends me deals

Plenty of my work comes from business owners who find me directly. Just as much comes from referral partners: commercial real estate brokers, conventional bankers, CPAs, and financial advisors who have a client that needs the owner-occupied real estate piece. If that is you, your client relationship stays yours. I handle the SBA side and keep you informed start to finish.

Have a building in mind?

Bring me the address, a purchase price, or just a question. I will give you an honest read on whether it works and what it would take.
